Design Engineer

Job description

Ribeye has experienced huge success and growth over the last few years and are now at a very exciting stage within the business. We are now seeking a talented and enthusiastic Design Engineer to join our award-winning company.

This exciting role will see you work as part of our growing design team, developing both premium leisure RIBs and custom superyacht tender projects. The role is largely project-based and the candidate will be expected to produce 3D models and production drawings, before liaising with the production team manufacturing components and rigging the manufactured custom parts. This is a fantastic opportunity where you will be able to see your design work from initial concept to finished product, often under tight timescales.

You will be responsible for a range of duties, including the following:

  • Preliminary tender proposals, including weight edits and fitment plans.
  • Lead individual custom Superyacht Tender projects, managing key aspects of the design and delivery of custom specifications
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Produce accurate 3D models and production drawings for projects from the ground up.
  • Deliver design and engineering solutions such as complex mechanisms and moving components.
  • Create BOMs for new parts/assemblies.
  • Keep master GA’s and production drawings up to date with design changes.
  • Project managing multiple external contractors and suppliers, ensuring budgets and schedules are respected.
  • Work with the in-house fit-out team to ensure seamless implementation of custom parts. A hands-on approach is often necessary for this role.
  • Deal directly with high-profile clients and shipyards ensuring project expectations are managed and met.

Experience Required:

  • At least 2 year’s experience in a design engineering role, ideally in the marine industry.
  • Experience in low volume or custom projects is highly beneficial.
  • An understanding of welding, machining and typical manufacturing techniques. (An understanding of composites is highly beneficial)
  • Highly proficient in 3D and 2D CAD, specifically Rhinoceros 3D and Solidworks. (Knowledge of Autodesk Fusion 360 or similar is also desirable)
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook as well as Salesforce.
  • A detailed understanding of materials and low volume production techniques.
  • An exceptional eye for detail is especially important for this role.
  • A confident communicator; both with clients and colleagues throughout the business structure.
  • Proficiency in FEA and structural calculations is desirable but not essential for the role.
  • Electrical experience is desirable but not essential for the role.

We are offering a permanent role to the successful candidate will have completed a design-based qualification (i.e. degree or equivalent). You will be able to apply strong core design and communications skills, liaising directly with the design team and suppliers.

This is a site based position where you will be required to be onsite 5 days per week due to the nature of our work.

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Stores Person to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our stock activities, including shipping, receiving, and inventory management. This position requires a strong attention to detail, the ability to handle lifting, and familiarity with warehouse management systems.

Duties

  • Operate warehouse management systems to track inventory and manage stock levels effectively.
  • Assist in shipping and receiving processes, ensuring all items are accurately logged and accounted for.
  • Load and unload materials from lorries, ensuring safe handling practices are followed at all times.
  • Conduct regular stock checks to ensure accuracy of inventory records.
  • Handle materials with care, ensuring proper storage and organisation within the warehouse.
  • Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move goods around the warehouse as needed.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong skills in shipping and receiving processes are desirable.
  • Ability to operate forklifts; certification is a plus but training can be provided for the right candidate.
  • Excellent organisational skills with an eye for detail.
  • A proactive approach to materials handling and stock management is essential.

With more demand than ever for custom boats, Ribeye is recruiting for new Marine Technician to join their team of dedicated enthusiasts for the build of their award-winning luxury leisure RIBs and Superyacht Tenders.

Nature of the role

You will be required to work within our busy Fit Out department as a Marine Technician to assist the Fit-Out team with the technical aspects of the build. This could include:

  • Outboard and inboard engine installation and alignment.
  • Steering systems.
  • Installing electronics and navigation equipment.
  • Understanding wiring diagrams to complete intricate wiring systems.
  • Laying Teak Decks.
  • Installation of custom equipment.
  • Ability to rig A, S & Prime series to a high standard.
  • Ability to rig Yacht Tenders to a high standard.

Skills

  • Industry experience required.
  • Experience of problem solving and first fixes.
  • Ability to multi-task and go from one project to the next in quick succession.
  • Electrical experience.
  • A good work ethic.
  • A high level of pride in the standard of work.
  • Ability to work in a team to tight deadlines.
  • Understanding of stock control.
